Position Overview
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides front-line clinical leadership for a high-acuity Ortho / Neuro / Trauma medical-surgical unit during night shifts. This role combines direct patient care with charge-level coordination ensuring safe efficient operations and high-quality patient-centered outcomes.
This opportunity is ideal for experienced acute-care Med-Surg RNs who are currently functioning in a Charge Nurse capacity or are ready to step into a clinical leadership role.
Unit & Schedule Details
Note: Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-acuity Med-Surg environment with a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.
Compensation & Differentials
Hourly Pay Range: $35.65 $47.64 (based on experience)
Night & Weekend Differential: $4.00/hour
Sign-On Bonus & Relocation Assistance: Available on a case-by-case basis
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and deliver high-quality patient-centered care during assigned shifts
Serve as a clinical resource and escalation point for bedside nursing staff
Support admissions discharges and patient throughput for safe care transitions
Monitor nursing care delivery in alignment with clinical standards and quality metrics
Promote a patient-first culture including service recovery as needed
Assist with staffing coordination scheduling adjustments and labor management
Support staff onboarding coaching and performance feedback
Assist with inventory management and appropriate utilization of supplies
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to drive clinical outcomes and unit performance
Required Qualifications
Current acute-care Med-Surg RN experience (required)
Minimum 2 years of recent bedside Med-Surg RN experience
(Non-recent experience will not be considered)
Preferred: Charge Nurse experience in an acute Med-Surg setting
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Missouri or compact)
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
BSN preferred (not required)
BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
ACLS required within 30 days of hire
Proven ability to manage high patient acuity in a fast-paced team-based environment
Interest in clinical leadership and professional growth
