Position Title: Director of Trauma Program
Location -Fort Walton Beach FL

Job Summary
The Director of Trauma Program oversees the coordination development and advancement of trauma care research and education within the facility. This role promotes high-quality patient care innovation in trauma and acute care and excellence in clinical research.
Key Responsibilities
Develop processes to monitor and improve financial performance and resource utilization of the trauma program.
Perform strategic planning and coordinate optimal care for trauma patients across the care continuum.
Coordinate efforts between local and regional trauma systems.
Monitor clinical processes outcomes and system issues related to the quality of care provided.
Develop quality filters audits and case reviews to identify trends errors or opportunities for improvement.
Design and manage the trauma registry to support performance improvement research and reporting while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Manage verification and re-verification processes for the trauma program.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including ED staff trauma surgeons and nursing staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Address operational issues and patient concerns as they arise.
Qualifications
5 years of recent acute care trauma leadership experience.
Registered Nurse (RN) required.
Associate Degree required.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
Strong subject matter expertise in trauma operations.
Excellent communication collaboration and leadership skills.
Additional Information
Reports to: Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Scope: Oversight of the facility trauma program; operational role not nursing director role
Trauma Level: Level II Trauma Center
FTEs supervised: 8
Unit scope: Includes day-to-day coordination with ED trauma surgeons and trauma nursing staff
Leadership qualities desired: Subject matter expertise strong communication operational focus
