Job Summary

Position Summary: The Treasurer is responsible for the fiscal oversight of the collaborative in accordance with the policies of the Board of Directors the ACCEPT Collaborative Agreement M.G.L. Chapter 40 Section 4(e) and Chapter 43 of the Acts of Treasurer reports directly to the Board of Directors and is responsible for the proper receipt and disbursement of all money belonging to the collaborative and oversee all investments. The Treasurer will work closely with the Director of Finance and Operations and the Executive Director to ensure that all aspects of the financial operations comply with standard accounting practices as well as all applicable legal and regulatory :Advanced degree or license in related field (accounting business administration school finance)MA Department of Elementary and Secondary Education School Business Administrator License or CPA license preferred Knowledge of school and public sector financial management including investment of funds accounting procedures payroll and billing practices and fiscal record in a public school district or collaborative strongly preferred. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:Maintain oversight for receipt disbursement banking protection and custody of funds securities and financial instrumentsResponsible for all cash receipts and depositsResponsible for all disbursements including approval of accounts payable and payroll warrants and act as signatory on all Collaborative accountsReview warrants cash receipts financial records and payroll as necessary; review annual auditOversight of revenue expense and general ledger as it pertains to cash outflows/inflows and bank balances/reconciliationsMeet with representatives from banking partners in conjunction with the Director of Finance and Operations as necessaryResponsible for overseeing the investment of all Collaborative funds including both long and short term with a focus on maximizing security and interest revenueReview the proposed budget before it is submitted to the Board and report to the Board on any issues or concernsCertify and transmit budget tuition rates and membership dues not later than June 30 annuallyQuarterly attest to the finance committee that financial transactions have been properly recordedAttend Board and Finance Committee meetings as necessary to report on fiscal health of the organizationAlert the Board of Directors to any financial concernsAdhere to the Internal Controls and Business Procedures and Internal Task Checklist as documentedSuccess Factors/Job Competencies:Strong Leadership SkillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsStrategic ThinkingDecision MakingAbility to maintain confidentialityGreat attention to detail and accuracyCommitment to collaboratives mission and valuesTeam playerPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Physical- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to walk sit use hands to type handle or feel objects reach with hands and arms bend walk up and down stairs talk hear see stand for prolonged periods of time lift up to 25 lbs. routinely use standard office equipment such as computers copy machines fax phones shredders and filing Environment-This work is performed in a school/office YEAR:12 months part time; estimated 16 hours per monthSalary range: $10000 to $13000 negotiable depending on education and experience.
