Job Summary
The Safety & Loss Control Consultant provides expertise in safety and health to help prevent and reduce employee injuries and illnesses for Risk Services clients. This role supports clients and their field management in developing and maintaining effective safety programs across assigned branches and job sites while ensuring compliance with applicable regulations (OSHA DOT MSHA EPA) and company policies. The goal is to mitigate risk reduce losses and lower overall insurance costs.
Responsibilities:
Anticipate identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and work practices
Conduct safety program needs assessments to identify deficiencies and recommend preventive and corrective actions
Develop implement and maintain health and safety policies procedures rules and regulations
Implement and evaluate hazard control programs; measure audit and assess effectiveness
Facilitate and document required safety training for employees supervisors and temporary workers
Conduct safety meetings and training programs for client employees
Assist with branch facility field and jobsite safety inspections and observations
Perform job hazard analyses to identify workplace hazards
Coach and guide Acrisure and client employees and management on safety compliance and safe work practices
Assist with compliance efforts related to federal state and local regulations (OSHA 1910/1926 DOT MSHA EPA ADA)
Participate in client safety initiatives meetings and programs including providing customized training as needed
Collaborate with jobsite safety personnel to identify and resolve safety issues
Investigate and document incidents involving employees temporary workers or company property
Coordinate with Acrisure Claims Advocates and medical providers to support injury management and returntowork programs
Support OSHA recordkeeping requirements and safety incentive programs
Travel and stay overnight as required (up to 50%)
Be available oncall as needed unless approved time off has been scheduled
This role may require climbing ladders or scaffolding and entering confined spaces at job sites.
Requirements:
Indepth safety and loss control knowledge with handson field experience
Bilingual (English/Spanish) with the ability to clearly communicate safety concepts verbally and in writing
Strong problemsolving skills with the ability to assess risk and recommend practical solutions
Ability to prepare clear formal incident and investigation reports
Experience reviewing and staying current on OSHA 1910 and 1926 standards
Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Excel
Comfortable working independently managing changing priorities and maintaining strong client relationships
Education & Certifications:
OSHA 500 & 501 Authorized Outreach Trainer (required)
5 years of related experience in Safety and Loss Control
Bachelors degree in a related field (preferred)
Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) preferred
