Job Summary

Whitefriars College offers a Catholic education for boys in the Carmelite tradition. The College is seeking to appoint a talented enthusiastic and innovative Director College Operations () commencing 2 February 2026.

The Director College Operations is a senior leadership role within the College community grounded in a model of Christian service and integral to the effective day-to-day functioning of the school. Reporting to the Deputy Principal Staff the role holds overall responsibility for staffing operations daily organisation and the construction implementation and ongoing management of the College timetable. The Director works closely with the Deputy Principals Directors of Senior and Middle Years and the Daily Organiser to ensure continuity of teaching and learning appropriate staffing for all activities and the smooth coordination of College logistics.

With a strong focus on collaboration and service the Director College Operations oversees daily organising staff allocations casual relief arrangements and forward planning for teacher absences excursions examinations and major College programs. The role chairs the Operations Team and liaises extensively with the College Leadership Team to manage resources staffing and operational requirements for all College events. A key responsibility includes facilitating student subject allocations and timetable solutions that support both educational priorities and operational efficiency.

The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Catholic ethos of the College and an appreciation of the Carmelite tradition that underpins Whitefriars College. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills a capacity to support staff wellbeing and pastoral care and the ability to review practices and lead change where required. Further postgraduate qualifications will be advantageous. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant contribution to the life mission and ongoing development of a Catholic secondary school for boys.

It is expected of all employed at Whitefriars College that they accept and support the ethos of the Carmelite order and activities directed at the broader aims of the College (eg the Carmelite mission in Timor-Leste).
