Student systems sit at the heart of the university experience. As a Business Systems Specialistyoullplay a key role in ensuring our student information systems are fit for purpose compliant and continuously improving.
The role acts as a functional and technical bridge between business users and IT ensuring that Student Information Systems (SiMS) and integrated platforms support the effective delivery of the student lifecycle from admissions through to continuous improvement solution optimisation and service delivery excellence.
Responsibilities summary
Act as a subject matter expert for student systems and end-to-end student lifecycle processes
Analyse business needs and translate them into functional requirements system configurations or user stories
Support and deliver system enhancements upgrades and change requests including testing and documentation
Partner with business owners to review current processesidentifypain points and recommend practical scalable solutions
Liaise with IT teams and vendors to investigate troubleshoot and resolve system issues
Contribute to projects involving system improvements integrations and digital transformation initiatives
Conduct end-to-end testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT) for system releases
Create andmaintainprocess maps system documentation training materials and user guides
Ensure data integrity and compliance with relevant policies procedures and regulatory requirements
Provideexpert advice training and knowledge sharing to colleagues and end users
Who you are
Yourea systems-minded problem solver who enjoys improving how things work and helping others succeed. You bring a mix of business analysis capability systems experience and strong stakeholder engagement will bring:
Experience working with student information systems or similar enterprise platforms in a complex environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into effective system solutions
Hands-on experience supporting system configuration enhancements and testing
A solid understanding of business process improvement and service optimisation
Confidence working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Excellent communication skills and a collaborative customer-focused approach
The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes
Experience with data analysis or reporting tools (desirable)
Tertiary qualifications in information systems business education administration or equivalent practical experience
