Job Description:
Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Learning Technologies the Infrastructure Service Specialist plays a crucial role in the development implementation and management of critical IT infrastructure components. The Infrastructure Services Specialist will perform the full scope of infrastructure responsibilities but will have a primary focus on cybersecurity operations. The successful candidate will work closely with the organizations Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP) to support security monitoring incident response automation and continuous improvement of the organizations cybersecurity posture.
This role is well-suited to an IT professional with a strong interest in cybersecurity who is seeking hands-on experience in security operations while continuing to develop broad infrastructure skills within a flexible team model. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed is essential.
Responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Play a crucial role in security operations ensuring our Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) and internal teams are aligned
Lead operational review meetings and coordinate investigations and escalations with the MSSP
Act as the internal technical lead for the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team (CIRT) overseeing documentation coordination and post-incident reviews
Actively support incident response activities and root cause analysis
Focus on high-signal alerts and efficient workflows to protect the organizations digital assets.
Monitor and support investigations of alerts from enterprise security and log management platforms
Continuously improve signal quality by tuning security logs and detection rules to reduce noise
Drive automation and orchestration projects focusing on alert enrichment and workflow efficiency
Design and implement IT solutions that meet organizational security standards
Assist with network security and Identity and Access Management (IAM) services
Create and maintain technical action plans and documentation for future-proofing our operations
Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
Diploma in a related or relevant field
At least 3 years experience in cybersecurity
Additional related experience in IT infrastructure systems administration or a related technical role
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Cloud application and productivity suites
Microsoft Active Directory administration including Azure Active Directory / Entra ID
Network security concepts including next-generation firewalls
Security appliances and systems
Foundational understanding of cybersecurity concepts including incident response and risk mitigation
Experience working in cloud or hybrid IT environments
Exposure to security monitoring alerting or log analysis
Basic scripting or automation experience (PowerShell or similar)
Proven experience in LAN/WAN and Wireless Infrastructure
Experience with project management
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent analytical quantitative and problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational interpersonal and communication skills
Valid Ontario Drivers G License with regular access to a vehicle

This is a permanent full-time position. The anticipated start date of this position is as soon as the interview process is complete. The annual salary range of $95098 - 103153 which will be prorated to the duration of the assignment.
