Senior Procurement Advisor

The opportunity

Downers Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Senior Procurement Advisor to support a major capital infrastructure project a 100km 500kV transmission line north of Sydney enabling the energy transition to renewables.

Based in Sydney you will run the full procurement lifecycle from sourcing and contracting to supplier negotiations working closely with subcontractors international suppliers project teams and senior leadership. This is a full-time 18-month contract with significant responsibility for delivering materials and resources efficiently on time and within budget.

This role is critical to Downers delivery of renewable energy infrastructure ensuring commercial outcomes and project success across a high-profile Tier 1 project.

What youll do

• Lead end-to-end procurement activities for the transmission line project including sourcing contracting and supplier management
• Negotiate with subcontractors and international suppliers to secure materials and resources
• Collaborate with project teams and regional procurement hubs to optimise schedule and cost outcomes
• Monitor and report on procurement risks opportunities and KPIs
• Support the Senior Procurement Advisor and project leadership in delivering projects on time and within budget

What were looking for

• 5 years experience in procurement for capital projects ideally in Energy & Utilities or construction
• Strong commercial acumen and experience managing complex contracts
• Excellent negotiation relationship management and stakeholder engagement skills
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-pressure deadline-driven environment
• Proactive detail-oriented and solutions-focused approach
