Job Summary

The Student Fundraising Associate will be an integral part of the Development team. This interns primary responsibilities will be to assist the development team in the planning implementation and execution of several main operation functions including but not limited to donor relations and stewardship data maintenance and prospect research and fundraising events and serving as an ambassador for the Foundation.

Major Responsibilities:

DONOR RELATIONS AND STEWARDSHIP

  • Conduct weekly thank you and/or follow-up phone calls to donors.
  • Through use of existing templates write thank you notes to donors.
  • Create unique and personalized gifts communications and/or projects for donors and top prospects.

DATA MAINTENANCE AND PROSPECT RESEARCH

  • Use the Foundations Client Relationship Management (CRM) system database to record donor interactions update contact information and/or input of event attendance.
  • Research and prospecting alumni and donors using CRM.

FUNDRAISING EVENTS AND FOUNDATION AMBASSADOR

  • As needed assist with campus and/or Foundation Office events or receptions.
  • Serve as an ambassador and spokesperson for Foundation which could include speaking at events greeting guests interacting with donors at dinners and receptions providing campus tours to top donors or being featured in various publications or marketing pieces.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) other applicable regulatory requirements and professional standards.

EDUCATION SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Currently enrolled and pursuing education through Ivy Tech Community College
  • Ability to work professionally in independent and team settings
  • Ability to build and steward regional and statewide relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Positive attitude
  • Relevant experience

To Qualify for our Federal Work Study program students:

Must be authorized to work in the United States

Must have a high school diploma or GED.
Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
Student must demonstrate financial need.

Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment
background checks including criminal history check and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Official transcripts required upon hiring.
