Are you that energetic Senior Business Control Expert and ready to help Financial Markets take control and manage their non-financial risks proactively We have an exciting STA opportunity to join INGs Wholesale Banking Financial Markets NFR & Control Pillar as a Business Control Expert. You will provide specialist expertise to support the execution of risk & compliance activities to drive change across the global Financial Markets Front Office. Working cross-functionally with a variety of stakeholders to enable the achievement of business outcomes. Financial Markets is a heavily regulated environment offering a very diverse and challenging Business Control environment giving plenty of opportunity to apply your existing skills develop yourself even further and become immersed in new thrilling subjects. The team
As a key player in the FM NFR & Control pillar youll help shape INGs risk profile by driving and coordinating first-line risk management activities and critical NFR KPIs. Youll collaborate closely with Financial Markets Front Office colleagues and align with stakeholders across all three lines of defence. Your work will directly support regulatory readiness operational efficiency and control optimization. The FM NFR & Control pillar is part of the Global FM CoE Regulatory team and has a global span. On the team you will be exposed to and work with different colleagues from the Financial Markets Front Office whilst aligning with stakeholders in 1st 2nd and 3rd Lod roles. The FM NFR & Control pillar consists of 6 people for who you will perform the day -to-day management.

This global role puts you at the heart of INGs Financial Markets with exposure to senior leadership and a wide range of business lines. Based in Amsterdam youll be part of a high-performing team that values curiosity ownership and continuous improvement. Roles and responsibilities
The specific responsibilities will include leading execution of all Non-Financial Risk Management facets for and being a trusted advisor and providing guidance to the Financial Markets Front Office organization including but not limited to:

  • Driving and coordinating the execution of the key components of the NFR Framework this includes a.o. issue and event management risk assessments key control testing risk awareness and risk culture where you will also support and provide guidance and expertise to junior colleagues.
  • Maintaining the NFR governance landscape for FM Globalkeeping policies sharp current and on-cycle.
  • You will be responsible for the Global FM NFRC including chairing the meeting next to organizing regular community calls for FMs 1lod NFR Community. Youll also represent FM NFR in key governance committees.
  • Stay alert to external developments and contribute to a structured approach to risk management. You will also drive the solutioning of more complicated NFR related subjects.
  • You will provide stakeholder management to key departments within FM as well as to our 2nd and 3lod departments where the focus is risk identification and mitigation. Next to this you provide support to senior management on key risk subjects and preparation for the WB NFRC a.o.
  • Youll help build a culture of operational excellence by:
    • Staying sharp and proactive keeping up with key policies (Risk Legal etc.) and making sure the right protocols are in place and followed.
    • Championing a strong Risk Culture across Financial Markets inspiring others to do the same.
    • Driving change by supporting strategic initiatives and transformation projects that elevate our control environment.

  • Masters degree in Business Economics Accountancy or a related field preferably with added value from certifications in Internal Controls or Non-Financial/Operational Risk. Brings 610 years of banking experience including 5 years specializing in non-financial risk across on or multiple of the three lines of defence.
  • Highly organized and driven professional with a strong ability to manage competing priorities. A proactive self-starter who thrives on variety embraces continuous improvement and excels in fast-paced deadline-driven environments. Known for a strong work ethic and positive energy.
  • Skilled in engaging and influencing senior stakeholders with confidence and respect especially on Non-Financial Risk topics. Strong communicator with clear impactful writing and presentation skills.
  • A collaborative inclusive team player with a strong track record in Orange Code behaviours. Embraces diversity and cross-cultural perspectives thrives in cross-functional environments and brings a proactive mindsetequally effective working independently or under guidance.
  • Seasoned risk professionalwith hands-on experience in identifying assessing and managing NFR across global functionsespecially within Financial Markets and Wholesale Banking. Brings strong knowledge of ING policies reporting standards and data quality with a proven ability to juggle multiple deliverables independently.
  • Clear and confident communicator skilled in advising senior stakeholders and translating complex risk matters into actionable insights. Fluent in English and Dutch with excellent command of Microsoft tools and a track record of delivering results in high-pressure deadline-driven environments.
