Job Summary

Current enrollment full-time at a post-secondary institution

Additional Details:

Up to 2 temporary full-time positions for 4 months intended specifically for students currently enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution commencing in May 2026
The Urban Planning & Economy Department requires dynamic well organized and highly motivated individuals to process and enter data for the Edmonton Business Census team. This team consists of Business Census Enumerators and Business Census Data summer students working together. This position will be of interest to any individuals seeking to expand their professional network develop their soft skills and an interest in Geographic Information System (GIS) software data analysis statistics or economic development.
As a Business Census Data summer student you will:
- Ensure data quality completeness and accuracy of collected data
- Identify data entry issues
- Code responses by NAICS or other industry classifications
- Track and report on lessons learned feedback or opportunities for improvement
- Communicate with business owners (via phone and email) to complete surveys
- Perform other duties as assigned
