Join the Louisiana Public Health Laboratory as a Laboratory Technician and play a vital role in protecting public health across the state. This position supports critical clinical and environmental testing by receiving processing and preparing samples at the central Office of Public Health laboratory. The role offers hands-on laboratory experience exposure to accredited public health operations and the opportunity to support quality control inventory and regulatory compliance. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented service-driven and eager to contribute to a mission-focused team dedicated to advancing Louisianas public health and diagnostic capabilities.
Two years of experience as a laboratory technician; OR
An associate or bachelors degree in medical technology nursing clinical laboratory science or a biological physical or chemical science plus one year of experience as a laboratory technician; OR
Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technician by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science plus one year of experience as a laboratory technician; OR
Certification as a Laboratory Animal Technologist by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
Positions in Human Testing Laboratory environments must be licensed to practice as either a Laboratory Assistant or a Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Technician in the State of Louisiana as required by Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Personnel Law R.S. 37:1311-1329 and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners.
