POSITION SUMMARY The Purchasing Assistant provides support to the Purchasing Department. This position is responsible for invoice review material management in the purchasing tracking system and ensuring records are maintained appropriately.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Review and approve material invoices. Oversee material management within the internal system: including adding and monitoring material prices and delivery information. Monitor material stock levels for all plant locations. Update and maintain material locations as jobs are processed and completed. Track tonnage used on FPAs (Firm Price Agreement). Coordinate MTRs (Material Test Report) to ensure correct details on all files. Other essential tasks as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES None.
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma is required. Previous related experience in production manufacturing and purchasing is preferred.
