Position Type:District Treasurer/Gen Bus Mngr/Cycles 891 Reporting /240Location: Highland School District Reports To: Superintendent Work Location: District Office Work Schedule: 240 days Responsible for performing bookkeeping and clerical duties and for providing general office support necessary for the district to function efficiently with specific responsibility for an array of fiscal services for student body and school site activities/athletics; conveying and updating fiscal information; and ensuring that fiscal practices are followed and disbursement of funds is within proper and legal guidelines. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform bookkeeping functions of internal accounts - receive and disburse monies from various accounts within the schools internal accounts and maintain appropriate documentation. Prepare process and follow up on all orders as authorized. Maintains appropriate records pertinent to the approved budget. Prepare process and record all bank deposits and withdrawals. Answer phones and take messages. Maintain accurate data and files. Maintain such records and reports as requested by the Superintendent. Fill in for other office positions when needed. Complete beginning and end-of-school-year tasks as required. Ability to compose correspondence assemble data and prepare reports. Order and dispense district supplies. Exercise good judgment and work effectively with all district personnel students and the public. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor. Education/Experience Requirements Minimum of a high school diploma. Previous bookkeeping experience. Experience utilizing financial software. General knowledge of Microsoft Suite and Google Drive. High degree of dependability and reliability. History of excellent work attendance. Ability to perform duties of a sensitive and confidential nature. Time management and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced work environment. Organizational skills and proficiency in oral and written communication skills. Effective attention to detail. Ability to operate computers copying machines and other office equipment. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with district staff students parents and other visitors. Ability to assume responsibility display initiative and exercise good judgment. Perform duties in a professional and personable manner. Other/Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal statee and local standards. Must be able to sit for long periods of time using a computer. Ability to occasionally lift objects to 20 pounds. Ability to maintain regular punctual attendance consistent with the ADA FMLA and other federal state and local standards. Applicants must be able to pass a Safe Hiring Solutions background check
