Job Summary
Health Care Assistant Night Shift Roles in a Warm Nursing Home
We are recruiting Health Care Assistants to join our night team at Patcham Nursing Home in Brighton.
Patcham Nursing Home is a welcoming 30-bed residential and nursing home providing high-quality person-centred care in a calm and supportive environment. Each resident has a private en-suite room supporting dignity comfort and independence.
This is a great opportunity for compassionate care staff who want to work in a stable well-supported home where residents are truly known as individuals.
Location: Patcham Nursing Home Brighton
Salary: 13.70 per hour (reviewed annually) weekend enhancement
Hours: 24 hours per week (Nights)
Contract: Permanent (Part-time / Full-time / Bank available)
We also have a36-hour night shift maternity cover role available with the potential to become permanent.
About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant you will support residents during night shifts ensuring safety comfort and high-quality person-centred care at all times.
You will be working as part of a supportive care and nursing team in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and daily support to residents
- Support residents with dementia complex needs and palliative care
- Carry out regular night-time welfare checks
- Assist with mobility comfort and wellbeing needs
- Monitor and report changes in residents health or behaviour
- Maintain accurate care records and handovers
- Support a calm and safe overnight environment
- Work closely with nurses and care staff as part of a team
Who we are looking for
- Compassionate and reliable Health Care Assistants
- Experience in dementia or elderly care (desirable but not essential)
- Calm and confident working night shifts
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patient adaptable and resident-focused approach
- Genuine passion for high-quality care
