Position Title: APS6 Salesforce Developer
Employment Type: Approx 6 month contract with potential to extend
Location: Canberra (onsite work required)
Hourly Pay Rate: Rates negotiable dependent on skills and experience
Security Clearance/Requirements: Baseline security clearance

ABOUT THE ROLE

A large Australian Government science and innovation organisation is seeking an experienced APS6 Salesforce Developer to support the enhancement and ongoing delivery of a Salesforce platform. This role will focus on building optimising and integrating Salesforce solutions to support digital engagement and organisational objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design develop and implement customised Salesforce solutions aligned with business needs

• Configure and optimise declarative tools including Flows validation rules and Lightning pages

• Create and maintain custom objects fields page layouts and platform configurations

• Deliver system enhancements arising from previous rollout phases including new functionality

• Develop and maintain integrations between Salesforce and other enterprise systems using APIs and appropriate integration patterns

• Support data migration activities and troubleshoot data integrity issues

• Collaborate with internal IT and digital engagement teams to gather requirements and co-design solutions

• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Conduct unit testing and support user acceptance testing (UAT)

• Use version control and deployment tools to manage releases and contribute to CI/CD improvements

• Ensure solutions comply with security accessibility and Australian Government standards

• Provide technical advice to support continuous improvement of Salesforce usage
  
  

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

• Demonstrated experience developing Salesforce solutions across Sales Service Marketing Experience Maps and Tableau environments

• Strong capability with Salesforce declarative tools

• In-depth understanding of Salesforce security model and data architecture

• Experience designing and implementing custom objects fields and page layouts

• Familiarity with Salesforce AppExchange solutions

• Experience using version control and deployment tools (e.g. Git Salesforce DX)

• Proven experience with system integrations APIs and integration patterns

• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills

• Excellent communication negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable:

• Experience with Veevart

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies

• Salesforce Developer certification

• Experience working with CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce

• Knowledge of Australian Government accessibility standards and user-centred design approaches
