About the Team:

You will be joining a committed and collaborative team of academics whose teaching is informed by research. We work to broaden student perspective of education within the discipline of the social sciences. In the Education Program at Victoria University we believe every student has a contribution to make both within the educational setting of the university as well as the broader world. About the Role:

As an academic at in the Education Program you will be provided with support to advance your career. Your past experience in teaching and research will see you inform the work of the respective education programs (Bachelor of Education Studies EBST & Master of Education EMET).

Position Key Duties

  • To induct students into educational theoretical concepts as positioned within the discipline of the Social Sciences.
  • To engage and model a pedagogical approach that is inclusive and relational.
  • To convene units of study in a higher education program.
  • Enact the capacity to work independently and as a part of a team.
  • To lead moderation of assessment.
  • To contribute to research projects within the discipline of education.
  • To supervise students undertaking a minor thesis in Education.
  • To represent the Education program at University Open Days.
  • Identify assess prioritise and control risks to the health and safety of staff students visitors and contractors to the environment arising from the operation of the area under their responsibility and ensure that a safe system of work is developed and followed through appropriate training supervision

Salary: Academic Level B $113221 - $134449 per annum pro rata 17% superannuation
Employment Type: Ongoing
Hours: 36.75 (1.0 FTE) hours per week
Location:Footscray Park Nicholson st campus the position may be relocated to any other existing or future university work locations.

About You:

  • A PhD with a research and teaching experience in Higher Education on alternative school environments adult education local government museums community providers and NGOs.
  • What do you think would make someone and ideal fit for this role
  • The capacity to engage students from diverse backgrounds.

The University is a Child Safe willbe requiredto hold a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) or be willing to obtain one prior tocommencingemployment.
