The South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS) is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service based in Bunbury which provides a variety of health services to Aboriginal people in the South West Great South Upper wheatbelt and Peel Regions of Western Australia. SWAMS delivers a wide range of Services including: GP Clinics Primary Health Care Counselling NDIS and community host various programs. SWAMS has a strong growth strategy through partnership opportunities and future community development.
We are seeking a part time (2 days per week) motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our UDRH team as a Clinical Education Facilitator Nursing. This position is responsible for developing and implementing structured learning plans and ensuring clinical skills development for students undertaking clinical nursing placements at SWAMS which align with their home universities curriculum and SWAMS service addition the position guides students in culturally appropriate nursing practices.
This role forms part of the Edith Cowans University Department of Rural Health South West (UDHR SW) student placement program at SWAMS. The program aim is to build rural health workforce capacity through providing innovative rural health placements facilitating quality rural learning experience including in the context of caring for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients in a culturally safe manner.
It is an essential requirement of this role for you to be a AHPRA recognised Registered Nurse.
