The Assistant Director Career Services will provide career-related services and programming for University of Miami Herbert Business School graduate students and support the mission of the Unanue Graduate Career Services Center. Assist the Center by performing specific duties in identified areas and working independently toward carrying out departmental objectives.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
Provides individual career coaching to students regarding career planning and job searches including self-assessment career research resume and cover letter review interview preparation and professional skills development. Documents coaching sessions in department system including notes outcomes and follow-up assignments. Performs outreach functions with groups such as students faculty staff alumni and employer recruiters to effectively engage in career-related activities. Partners with employers to develop full-time internship or co-op opportunities for students. Maintains current knowledge of recruiting trends industry characteristics job specifications/requirements industry vocabulary and industry/employer culture. Assists with the collection and reporting of information statistics and data on an ongoing basis and for various annual reports. Works some evening and weekend hours for career-related events and periodically travels to conferences and workshops. Assists with instructing graduate level career courses such as MGT 697 Graduate Business Career Connect as well as other career related courses and workshops for academic and non-academic credit will be required on an as needed basis and may take place outside the normal workday based on the academic calendar and classroom availability. Works closely with international students and international job seekers to develop programming resources networks and expertise specifically for these populations. Develops programming and resources specifically to support online students with their career services needs.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelors degree in relevant field required
MBA/MS degree preferred
Certification and Licensing:
Not Applicable
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience (i.e. corporate/industry recruiting career coaching)
Finance marketing or higher education experience preferred
