What youll do: Summary:The Federal Programs Client Liaison responsibilities include providing support to the Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) including certifying participants providing CSFP home and high-rise deliveries directly to participating seniors and providing program support to CSFP distribution partners. This role is responsible for adhering to all CSFP rules and guidelines and providing excellent customer service. This role will also deliver and pick up local food shipments as well as maintain daily reporting operations safety and other duties. This role will provide customer service and relationship building with internal and external partners to ensure a favorable image of Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee. This position supports and fosters our deep commitment to diversity and inclusion which is the foundation for creating a culture of belonging for all personnel. Key Responsibilities: Adheres to CSFP program rules and regulations. - Accurately certifies and re-certifies participants in the office or in the field in the Link2Feed intake system.
- Ensures all certifications are up to date.
- Communicates CSFP program information to clients distribution partners and others in Nashville and the surrounding community.
- Provides support and technical assistance to CSFP distribution partners.
- Provides back-up for the Manager Federal Programs supervisor as needed.
- Assists with distribution of Farmers Market Vouchers.
Transports and delivers CSFP food boxes. - Delivers monthly CSFP food boxes to participating seniors homes high-rise apartments and at pop up locations throughout Davidson County.
- Logs distributions in Link2Feed.
- Submits daily inventory invoices to Manager Federal Programs.
- Operates delivery van pallet jack forklift and other material handling equipment to load and unload food at the distribution center in Smyrna utilizing proper storage methods and procedures.
- Maintains transportation areas and warehouse equipment in a clean and orderly manner.
- Operates in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Adhere to the daily delivery schedule as given by Federal Program Manager.
Safety and Maintenance. - Observes OSHA state and federal safety regulations.
- Follows all company and regulatory agency safety policies.
- Obeys all traffic laws and drives defensively.
- Checks vehicles fluid levels tire pressure and cleanliness.
- Reports any unsafe equipment or working conditions to supervisor.
- Maintains a clean and functional vehicle.
- Reports potential safety issues repairs maintenance and service needs to supervisor.
- Follows the regular vehicle maintenance schedule as provided by supervisor.
Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESYes directly supervises several volunteers as needed. When & Where: - Schedule:
- Monday Friday 6:30am 2:00pm.
- Occasional evenings and/or weekends may be required for meetings or special events as well as responding to issues outside of normal working hours (e.g. disaster response community events etc.).
- TRAVEL
- Routine daytime travel required within the local service area.
- Current drivers license with copy of current auto insurance and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) results required.
- ESSENTIAL BUSINESS/ FIRST RESPONDER:
- In instances of a federal state or locally declared emergency Second Harvest is typically considered an essential business service and emergency responder. All employees may be required to perform regular or emergent duties on-site. Employee safety is balanced with business and community necessity. Some positions are more likely to be required on-site than others.
Is this you - Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required. Valid Vehicle Operators Driver License of Class C (with F Endorsement) or Class B required.
- Experience: 1 year of experience professionally driving commercial vehicles and making deliveries or 1 year of experience working with seniors and/or working with clients in a social services program required.
- Skills & Capabilities:
- Maintains a valid Class C Operators Driver License (an F endorsement is required).
- Safe and proper operation of commercial vehicles and loading/ unloading with material handling equipment ranging from delivery van forklifts pallet jacks and dollies. Utilizes proper physical lifting techniques in accordance with warehouse operational methods procedures policies rules and regulations.
- Applies interprets and explains policies and procedures as needed through work with external partners.
- Reads maps utilizes GPS systems and plans and organizes work to meet route schedules and timelines. Ability to navigate commercial vehicle in non-traditional environments in execution of city and rural routes.
- Productive within various environments including outdoors warehouses and climate-controlled areas with seasonally ranging temperatures in freezer and cooler cold food storage zones.
- Fulfills physical demands of loading/ unloading responsibilities including consistently lifting pushing pulling and carrying objects up to 50 pounds.
- Works independently as well as a part of a team. Collaborates as an effective team member by establishing and maintaining productive professional relationships with co-workers program partners program participants and the public. Adapt as needed to staffing shortages.
- Customer service skills involving active listening reporting issues/ concerns internally and remaining flexible to adapt to external partner needs.
- Operates computer tablet and client tracking software.
- Maintains documentation and records.
- Cultural competence in working with diverse populations especially when delivering food to address hunger and populations experiencing food insecurity. Makes referrals to main distribution center for emergency food assistance needs.

- Utilizes correct English usage spelling grammar punctuation and mathematical communicate both orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
- Makes accurate counts general addition/ subtraction abilities to make mathematical calculations.
