Job Summary
Owl Labs is on a mission to transform how teams collaborate. Our smart video collaboration devices are redefining meeting experiences and were looking for a talented Senior Audio Software Engineer to join our team. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and build solutions that make hybrid work seamless intuitive and inclusive.
You will focus on implementing integrating and deploying real-time audio pipelines on Android-based embedded systems.
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Somerville MA.
WHAT YOULL DO:
- Collaborate with a cross-functional software team to enhance the intelligence of our devices through the use of audio processing.
- Design and implement state-of-the-art audio signal processing algorithms for real-time communication systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate audio processing solutions into our product ecosystem.
- Develop system frameworks to debug real time audio issues and support hardware tuning efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: B.S. in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or a related field (Masters preferred).
EXPERIENCE: 3 years of industry experience in the conferencing communications and/or professional audio industry (5 preferred).
SKILLS:
- Expert C: Proven experience in real-time multi-threaded programming on embedded systems.
- Experience with Android/Linux: Professional experience developing for Android devices and comfortable working in a Linux terminal for building and deploying code.
- Audio Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of digital audio fundamentals (AEC Noise reduction) and wireless audio technologies.
WAYS TO STAND OUT:
Acoustics & Hardware: Experience with audio DAW (e.g. Audacity Audition) audio testing software (SoundCheck HEAD acoustics) and a solid understanding of speaker and microphone : Experience working with TinyALSA and Android Audio : Familiarity with Python or MATLAB to verify algorithm behavior or analyze audio Domain Knowledge: Experience with beamforming algorithms. Experience with audio streaming protocols codecs (Opus AAC) and industry-standard communication Fundamentals: Familiarity with DSP and experience optimizing and integrating existing solutions.
