Role Overview
The Senior Engineer Storage & Databases supports DXCs Cloud & ITO services across the UKI region delivering reliable secure and scalable storage and database solutions in enterprise and hybrid cloud environments. The role acts as a technical SME supporting customer platforms ensuring service stability and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Design operate and optimize enterprise storage database and data protection solutions
Support hybrid and cloud platforms (Azure AWS private cloud)
Act as an SME / escalation point for storage and database-related issues
Ensure availability performance backup and recovery of customer data
Participate in incident problem and change management (ITIL)
Perform troubleshooting root cause analysis and service improvement activities
Support migrations upgrades and modernization initiatives
Maintain technical documentation and operational procedures
Collaborate with cloud infrastructure security and application teams
Participate in on-call and out-of-hours support when required
Required Skills & Experience
Strong experience in enterprise storage platforms (NetApp Dell EMC HPE or similar)
Experience supporting databases (e.g. SQL Server Oracle PostgreSQL MySQL)
Knowledge of backup & recovery solutions (Commvault NetBackup Veeam etc.)
Experience in cloud and hybrid environments
Solid understanding of Linux and Windows systems
Experience in managed services / enterprise customer environments
