Security Search and Observability (SSO) is a centralized development team that makes security simpler for all AWS customers. Key job responsibilities
A successful Software Development Engineer Intern in our team needs to be self-motivated able to quickly learn new concepts and work in a highly collaborative environment. You are expected to develop test and deploy high quality correct and maintainable production software. You will contribute to back end services and front end components to create engaging customer experiences.

This role offers a great opportunity to develop new services that enhance security for AWSs global customer base. As a technical individual contributor youll join a growing team of talented engineers to design implement and operate our services. You will also set and drive best practices for the team.

A day in the life
You will collaborate with engineering teams across AWS to design deliver and refine solutions that make it easier for our global customers to operate secure and compliant workloads within AWS. As an SDE I Intern youll work to understand and translate the core requirements into detailed architecture and design. Youll work on development activities and participate in designs design reviews code reviews and implementation.

SSO is a globally distributed team driving AWSs security search and observability growth initiatives. Our vision is to secure the worlds workloads and create a brighter future for humanity. We work with customers and partners to develop security solutions that enable our teams to deliver the right products and features. By harnessing security-relevant data we gain insights and automate actions to mitigate customer security concerns proactively ideally without requiring any action on their part.

- Are enrolled in a Bachelors degree or above
- Majoring in Computer Science Computer Engineering or a related field
- Able to commit to a 6-month full-time internship in 2026
- Expected graduation between December 2026 and August 2027
- Must be legally eligible to work in Singapore
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

- Proficiency in more than 1 programming languages: Java Python Typescript Shell Scripting
- Understanding of AWS and Cloud technologies: DynamoDB API Gateway EC2 Lambda
- Understanding of APIs Non Relational Databases Operating Systems Containers
- AWS certification is highly preferred
