The Reynoldsburg High School Principal serves as the instructional and operational leader of the building. The Principal provides a clear vision for learning; ensures a safe secure and orderly environment; and cultivates strong relationships with diverse stakeholders. This role is responsible for driving academic excellence postsecondary readiness and school culture while ensuring compliance with Ohio law and District Strategic Plans with passion joy and a belief in the success of all students.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Masters degree in Educational Leadership or a related field of practice.
- Experience: Five (5) years of successful PK-12 classroom teaching experience.
- Licensure: Valid State of Ohio Teaching License; Evidence of eligibility for or possession of a Valid Ohio Principal or Superintendent License (Grades 712 or 49).
- Certifications: Credentialed in Ohio Principal Evaluation System (OPES) and sufficient knowledge of Ohio Teacher Evaluation System (OTES) to evaluate staff effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Three to Five (35) years of experience in secondary school administration.
- Experience leading Teacher-Based Teams (TBTs) AP/CCP programs and Career-Technical Education (CTE) pathways.
- Specialized training in trauma-informed practices equity-focused leadership and adolescent development.

Instructional Leadership & Management
- Vision & Excellence: Develop articulate and operationalize a high school instructional vision focused on driving excellence and realizing meaningful achievement for all students.
- Curriculum & Assessment: Use standards to align systems of curriculum instruction and assessment; promote the effective use of technology and real-world learning experiences.
- Secondary Readiness: Monitor graduation cohorts and student progress; oversee Credit Recovery alternative scheduling and intervention strategies to ensure compliance with Ohio graduation requirements.
- Specialized Programs: Supervise AP CCP honors dual-enrollment and CTE pathways ensuring workforce alignment and industry credential fidelity.
- Data-Driven Improvement: Facilitate TBTs and department teams in analyzing performance data to take corrective actions and improve student outcomes.
School Climate Culture & Improvement
- Inclusivity: Foster a reflective collaborative and inspiring culture grounded in equity innovation and accountability.
- Student Conduct: Implement PBIS and restorative practices; develop student discipline systems that foster self-regulation and ensure rules are applied equitably.
- Safety: Ensure high-visibility supervision during the school day and at large-scale events; assist with safety inspections and emergency drill practices.
- Strategic Planning: Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and evaluate data-informed campus improvement plans and academic excellence indicators.
Personnel Management & Development
- Evaluations: Evaluate certified staff using the OTES model and classified staff in conjunction with the Director of Operations and Services; participate in OPES for administrative evaluation.
- Professional Growth: Support staff with ongoing actionable feedback and individual/group professional development aligned to District Strategic Plans.
- Capacity Building: Develop staff leadership by establishing structures for collaboration and input.
Administration Fiscal & Facilities Management
- Operations: Develop complex master schedules for courses labs CTE programs and extracurricular activities to maximize learning.
- Budgeting: Monitor staffing and enrollment to ensure fiscally responsible spending; compile annual budget requests and manage building requisitions/inventory.
- Support Coordination: Coordinate transportation custodial cafeteria and other support services; evaluate the condition of grounds and equipment.
- Extracurriculars: Supervise the Athletic Director and interscholastic athletic programs; ensure equitable access to student leadership clubs and organizations.
School & Community Relations
- Communication: Develop and execute a communication plan for students staff and families; articulate the schools mission to the community.
- Engagement: Partner with parent school councils and community agencies to support student welfare and expand learning opportunities.
- Legal Compliance: Maintain working knowledge of Ohio public education laws district policies procedures and negotiated agreements.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Current educational trends Ohio Graduation Requirements school law and secondary pedagogy.
Skilled in:
- Cultural proficiency mentoring/coaching executive operations and effective verbal/written communication.
Ability to:
- Handle adversity objectively; manage multiple projects under pressure; maintain confidentiality; and balance constructive feedback with recognition.
