ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of assigned residential group homes ensuring adequate staffing coverage for all shifts.
- Supervise Direct Support Professionals to ensure the health safety and well-being of individuals residing in the home.
- Orient new individuals to the group home environment.
- Coordinate schedule and oversee medical psychiatric and specialty appointments for residents.
- Arrange and coordinate transportation for appointments and community activities.
- Maintain accurate documentation for medical appointments ISP services and periodic support hours.
- Ensure Individual Support Plans (ISPs) are implemented appropriately and that staff are documenting services accurately in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor individuals health nutrition physical condition and behavioral needs and communicate concerns to management and clinical staff.
- Ensure overall care for individuals including assistance with bathing feeding housekeeping medical appointments shopping and active treatment activities.
- Provide training and support to individuals in activities of daily living and independent living skills.
- Assist with household tasks such as food preparation and laundering clothes as appropriate.
- Complete review and submit incident reports accurately and in a timely manner ensuring copies are submitted to the appropriate leadership.
- Participate in monthly supervisory meetings and maintain regular communication with case managers regarding changes in individuals needs or status.
- Attend staff meetings supervisory conferences and required trainings to support effective residential operations.
- Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with District of Columbia Mental Health and DDS standards MBI Health Services policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all consumer records and protected health information.
- Complete and submit all required reports and data collection in a timely manner.
- Serve as an on-call contact as required to respond to emergencies staffing issues or urgent residential concerns.
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications :
- Must be at least eighteen years of age.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Previous supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to effectively supervise coach and support Direct Support Professionals.
- Strong organizational documentation and communication skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency or crisis situations.
- Knowledge of DDS regulations ISP implementation and residential compliance preferred.
- Valid drivers license and ability to coordinate transportation as needed.
- CPR and First Aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards at all times.
- Must complete all required orientation and regulatory trainings.
