As an Electrical Technician you will participate under the guidance of engineers in the electrical and electronics development wiring and testing required for the upgrade of high-power radio frequency amplifiers their control and power supplies.
Your responsibilities:
In each area under the supervision of experienced technicians and engineers you will:
- Modify or create schematics using Electronics and Electricity software (such as Cadence Altium Designer See Electrical or Eplan).
- Dismount obsolete equipments and cables to prepare the upgrade of old systems.
- Build wire and test electrical crates (and perhaps electronics boards).
- Install and test various equipment (serviced or new) such as: power supplies control boards current sensors.
- Be involved in the development wiring and testing of high-power radio frequency equipment (from electrical distribution through high voltage to control electronics).
- Have the opportunity to receive training in various advanced techniques used in the field of high-power radio frequency: maintenance testing of RF systems and specific RF measurements.
- Contribute to quality documentation and be fully integrated into the R&D team which includes engineers and students.
- And as a member of the team you will also follow up the operation of the different RF systems of the section as part of an on-call service.
Your profile:
- First or short experience allowed.
- Proficient in Electrical wiring and assembling knowledge in Electronics would be valuable.
Skills:
- Strong team-building skills and ability to collaborate effectively.
- Highly motivated dynamic and solution-oriented.
- Strong willingness to learn and continuously improve.
- Spoken and written English or French with a commitment to learn the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
- By the application deadline you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Electricité / Electronique (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is a general secondary education diploma.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants with a Bachelors Masters or PhD degree are not eligible.
