Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide resident engineering services during the construction phase of a major infrastructure project in the Lower Mainland. This role is based on-site and involves close collaboration with contractors design teams and project stakeholders to ensure that structural works are executed in accordance with design specifications and safety standards. This is a new position for the team.

Key Responsibilities

Monitor and inspect structural works including foundations superstructures platforms canopies and ancillary structures at multiple locations.

Review and interpret construction drawings specifications and shop drawings.

Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical issues and field changes.

Ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and contract documents.

Participate in site meetings progress reviews and safety inspections.

Prepare daily reports non-conformance reports (NCRs) and field memos.

Support the Project Manager in managing construction quality.

Liaise with design engineers to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and design clarifications.

Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and method statements related to structural works.

 


Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

A Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.

A minimum of four (4) years of experience in structural engineering including at least two years in construction site supervision.

Professional Engineer (.) designation in British Columbia.

Preferred Qualifications:

Six years of experience in transit infrastructure or station construction.

Strong knowledge of structural systems concrete and steel construction and relevant codes (e.g. CSA ACI AISC).

Excellent communication documentation and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.

Valid drivers license (site is not accessible by public transit).

Experience with public sector infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with construction management software (e.g. Procore Autodesk Construction Cloud Bluebeam).
