Description

As our Water Meter Maintenance Technicianyoullbe at the heart of a variety of dynamic tasksin support of the operation and maintenance oftheTownscommercial irrigation and residential meters and other Town a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our meter reading and service processes contributing to the satisfaction of our residential and commercial customers.

This position is primarily working for the Meters Division withinUtilities however cross-training and other duties may be assigned.

  • This position is 100% in-person andnoteligible for remote work

Work Hours:Monday Friday 7:00AM 3:30PM

  • Employee must be able to work on-call schedule as assigned and outside of normal working hours.

Duties and Responsibilities(Advancedadditionalduties will exist for the Level IIand Level IIIpositions):

Essential

  • Assistsperformsand/or directs a variety of routine to complex maintenance and construction activities to include meter sets meter vaults concrete curb and sidewalk and curb stops.
  • Operates heavy and light duty equipment to perform related maintenance and construction assignments such as front-end loader dump truck skid steer backhoe andsnow plow.
  • Performs a variety of meter reading tasks to include reading residential raw water and commercial meters changing outmetersandmaintainingdetailed records of all activities performing rereads performing service orders from Finance including checking for leaks turn off/on move in/out rereads after billing.
  • Performs a variety of heavy laboring activities including the use of hand tools light power equipment and heavy construction and maintenance equipment.
  • Fabricates installsmaintainsand uses a variety of specialized and complex programming and meter reading equipment and performs light mechanical repair and maintenance.
  • Performs snow removal activities either by hand small equipment or heavy equipment as assigned.

Administrative and Customer Service

  • Performs data entry of information maintenancelogsand other data.
  • Responds to and coordinates with customers and contractors for work ordersinquiriesand complaints.
  • Prepares necessary records and reports.

Safety

  • Performs a variety of duties that requires considerable knowledge of the use and wear of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Performs routine safety checks of equipment and minor maintenance activities on vehicles and equipment andmaintainsrecords of activities.
  • Maintains a safe working environment to include working in traffic and congested areas working in ditches and confined spaces and all work environments.
  • Assistsin the cleaning and organization of shop area.

Operations & Maintenance Support

  • Assisting Streets in maintenance of roadways and signage.
  • Assisting Distribution Collections Storm Operations tasks to include maintenance and inspection of sanitary sewermanhole lift stations CCTV water sewer and storm lines hydrants valve and PRVs.
  • Assisting Locates with utilitylocates.
  • Assistingin Town events preparation operation and break down.

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)required

No experiencerequired but one (1) year of laboring heavy maintenance equipmentoperationsor other experience preferred.

Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving recordrequired

Colorado Commercial Drivers License Class Brequiredwithin one (1) year.

Flagger Certification within one (1) year.

Confined Space Certification within one (1) year.

Water Meter Maintenance Technician II

High School diploma or general education degree (GED)required

Two (2) years of related work experience in the utility fieldrequired.

Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving recordrequired

Colorado Commercial Drivers License Class Brequiredw/ tanker endorsementrequired.

Confined space certificationrequired

Flagger certificationrequired

Level I Distribution certification from the Colorado Operator Certification Program Office

Stormwater (PACE) Certificate or equivalent.

Water Meter Maintenance Technician III

Four (4) years of related work experience in the utility fieldrequired.

Valid Drivers License and satisfactory driving recordrequired
