We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Walk-in Clinic Physician to provide high-quality patient-centered medical care in a fast-paced outpatient setting located in Gallup NM 87301. The physician will deliver comprehensive evaluation diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic conditions for patients of all ages presenting for same-day or unscheduled care. This role emphasizes efficient clinical decision-making preventive care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure safe effective and timely services.
Provide timely medical assessment and treatment for patients presenting with acute illnesses minor injuries and chronic condition exacerbations.
Conduct thorough medical histories physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations.
Order interpret and review laboratory tests imaging and other diagnostic studies as appropriate.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and follow-up care instructions.
Provide preventive care health screenings and patient education on wellness and disease prevention.
Educate patients and families on diagnosis treatment options medications and self-care strategies.
Promote adherence to prescribed treatment plans and follow-up appointments.
Ensure culturally sensitive and patient-centered communication.
Work closely with nursing staff medical assistants and allied health professionals to ensure efficient patient flow and continuity of care.
Refer patients to primary care providers specialists or emergency services when clinically indicated.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical team meetings.
Maintain accurate timely and complete documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
Ensure compliance with federal state and facility policies procedures and healthcare regulations.
Participate in continuing medical education (CME) and professional development activities.
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Completion of an accredited residency program in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
Active unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of New Mexico.
DEA certification for prescribing controlled substances.
Strong clinical judgment diagnostic skills and patient communication abilities.
Experience in walk-in urgent care or ambulatory care settings.
Ability to manage a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions across diverse patient populations.
Familiarity with EHR systems and clinical documentation standards.
