- Train and manage a team of tax professionals in preparation and review of all tax returns (C-Corps & Partnerships) and related workpapers: Federal State Local Property Sales/Use Franchise and Gross Receipts Tax
- Implement controls and procedures to identify and mitigate risks that ensure accurate and compliant tax practices
- Maintain and monitor a tax calendar to ensure timely filings and payments
- Ensure no late penalties or interest charges by coordinating and monitoring the teams timing with treasury for cash payments
- Prepare tax provision & reconcile tax accounts (ASC 740) and ensure appropriate tax accounting in the general ledger
- Reconcile deferred tax liability and asset account balances on the general ledger and book tax expense accruals on a monthly basis
- Work closely with the Director of Tax in preparation of various documents tax-related projects tax implications from M&As and assist in the interim/annual audit
- Tax research and planning. Recognize complex technical issues reach appropriate conclusions and apply authority to support conclusions
- Resolves tax issues responds to tax notices and inquiries from federal/state agencies
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments communicate the effects of these developments
- Proactively prepare for federal and state income tax audits and responses to tax auditor requests with the goal of settling tax audits with less than identified tax exposure. Respond timely and effectively to taxing authority notices.
- Manage and own any inbound tax inquiries via email
- Ability to organize work and manage projects prioritize and meet deadlines

EDUCATION (Required and/or Preferred):
- Bachelors degree in Accounting required
- Masters degree in Tax or Business is highly desirable
FIELD OF STUDY:
WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- 8 years Partnership/Corporate tax experience required
- Prior experience at a national/regional public accounting firm or a large corporate tax department
- OneSource Tax/Provision Software experience a plus
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
- CPA certification required
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Majority of time will require office based remaining time is remote
- Occasional overtime may be necessaryNote: In terms of an 8-hour day Occasionally equals 1-33% Frequently equals 34-66% and Continuously equals 67-100% of the time.
- Flexible hours are allowed at the discretion of management
- Continuous sitting and computer use
