Summary:
As a Senior Business Operations Assistant you will play a vital role in improving the lives of children and families across Somerset. By providing high-quality administrative and clerical support to the Youth Justice Team (YJT) and the Family Intervention Service (FIS) you allow frontline practitioners to focus on their essential work. This is a fast-paced reactive and sensitive role that requires a high degree of confidentiality organization and a kind professional manner. You will be part of a supportive team environment that values initiative and a non-judgemental approach to public service.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor service mailboxes; answer the Duty phone to take messages signpost callers and coordinate volunteers to support young people in custody.
- Accurately upload documents and sensitive information to childrens electronic records; monitor and update various tracking spreadsheets.
- Provide basic ICT and systems support to practitioners; assist with administrative tasks for recruitment and interview processes.
- Manage a varied workload with high attention to detail ensuring all tasks are actioned promptly in a reactive environment.
Qualifications:
- GCSEs in English and Maths (Grades A*C or 94) OR NVQ Level 2 standard (or equivalent) is essential.
Essentials:
- Previous experience in an administrative role is preferred though transferable skills from other sectors are highly valued.
- High level of accuracy in data entry and written correspondence to ensure information regarding vulnerable children is correct.
- A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team that supports multiple locations across the county.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
- You should have right to work in U.K
- This role requires a Basic DBS
