Senior Project Development Engineer | Power Projects

THE ROLE

Downers Power Projects team is seeking a Senior Project Development Engineer to support the development and delivery of major transmission and energy infrastructure projects. Based in our Milton office this role plays a key part in shaping project strategy during tender ECI and pre-construction phases while supporting a smooth transition into delivery.

Youll work closely with internal stakeholders delivery teams and clients to ensure constructable competitive and well-planned project outcomes.

Some of the key responsibilities include:

• Provide delivery and constructability input into bids tenders and ECI opportunities.

• Support development of construction strategies schedules and early works packages.

• Assist with procurement planning scope development and tender evaluations.

• Collaborate with project teams during the transition from pre-contracts to delivery.

• Contribute to client engagement risk identification and value-driven project solutions.

ABOUT YOU

Youre a commercially aware engineer with strong delivery insight who enjoys influencing projects early in their lifecycle. You combine technical capability with practical judgement communicate confidently with stakeholders and bring a collaborative mindset to complex project environments.

• Background in project development construction or delivery within power or linear infrastructure.

• Strong understanding of estimating cost planning and constructability principles.

• Ability to interpret technical documentation contracts and project schedules.

• Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

• Safety-focused analytical and outcomes-driven approach.
