Schedule & Shift Details
Shift: Night
Shifts per Week: 3
Hours per Shift: 12
Total Weekly Hours: 36
Weekends: Every other weekend required
Holidays: Some holidays required
Job Overview
A medical center is seeking experienced Pediatric ICU Registered Nurses for night-shift coverage. This role requires strong critical care expertise and the ability to provide high-quality family-centered care in a fast-paced pediatric intensive care environment.
Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients
Perform detailed nursing assessments and continuous patient monitoring
Administer medications IV therapies and advanced life-support interventions
Collaborate with physicians respiratory therapists and interdisciplinary teams
Respond effectively to emergencies and rapid clinical changes
Accurately document patient care assessments and interventions in the EMR
Support patients and families with compassionate clear communication
Maintain compliance with hospital policies safety standards and best practices
Required Qualifications
Active New York State RN License (Required)
BLS Certification (Required)
Minimum 3 years of recent PICU experience (within the past 2 years)
Experience in a Level I or Level II trauma center required
Strong assessment critical thinking and communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal orientation
Preferred Qualifications
EPIC EMR experience
Experience in large acute-care or trauma hospitals
Pediatric critical care certifications
