Description
Performs a variety of shipping and receiving clerical tasks. Compares identifying information on incoming and outgoing shipments with purchase orders packing lists shipping reports or other documents. Performs material handling functions as well as inventory as needed.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Shipping/Receiving
- Prepares Daily Shipment Paperwork
- Ship orders in the computer system that have been prepared
- Prepares shipments for UPS/FedEx and DHL
- Prepares and prints bill of lading. to ensure quantity destination and etc. are accurate
- Prepare labels as needed (shipping box barcode and warning) for shipping.
- Traces lost shipments and customer claims of lost shipments; initiates proof of delivery documentation
- Schedules for inbound and outbound trucks as necessary
- Operate forklift
- Assists with cycle counting
- Place raw materials or finished goods into appropriate bin locations within Global system
Warehouse
- Use RF Gun or Global System to complete transactions for material transfers
- Receive incoming material into Global system
- Distributes raw material to production
- Perform inbound inspections
- Organizes and maintains warehouse
Requirements
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Previous shipping/receiving clerk/coordinator experience preferred.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing 6S and efficiency improvements.
EDUCATION &/or CERTIFICATIONS:
- High school Diploma or GED
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE &/or SKILLS:
- Ability to measure and weigh.
- RF scanner and ERP/MRP experience preferred.
- Proficiency in basic mathematical skills to include addition subtraction multiplication and fractions to be able to calculate square footage etc.
- Must be able to read a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch and accurately use a calculator to measure and calculate. Computer proficiency with MS Office.
- Forklift certification required.
- Strong commitment to performing tasks with a safety first attitude.
- Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and/or move up to 25lbs and on occasion lift and/or move up to 50 lbs with or without the use of material handling equipment stand or walk for extended periods of time utilize computer and telephone operate office equipment.
