Position Overview
The Denver Indian Center Inc. (DICI) is seeking a skilled and culturally grounded Lead Relationship Guidance Specialist to support the delivery of the Kinship & Commitment Program (KCP). The Specialist will provide direct instruction facilitation and relational support using two evidence-based skills-based curricula focused on healthy marriage relationship strengthening family communication and economic stability.
This role is central to helping Native families strengthen communication resolve conflict build economic stability skills and deepen kinship ties in an urban Native community setting. The Specialist will work closely with the Program Director and other team members to deliver culturally relevant programming that honors Indigenous values teachings and traditional kinship systems.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction & Facilitation
Deliver and co-facilitate evidence-based skills-based curricula focused on relationship health conflict resolution communication and financial well-being.
Assist with instructional planning lesson sequencing and culturally aligned adaptations approved by the Program Director.
Facilitate workshops talking circles group discussions skills practice and interactive learning sessions.
Provide one-on-one and small-group relational support guidance and referrals as needed.
Maintain fidelity to evidence-based models while ensuring cultural relevance and community responsiveness.
Program Support & Participant Engagement
Assist with participant intake orientation ongoing check-ins and retention strategies.
Support logistical planning for workshops circles and family activities.
Help develop culturally responsive materials handouts and resource guides.
Build and maintain positive relationships with participants based on trust respect and cultural humility.
Community & Partner Collaboration
Collaborate with community partners tribal programs and other Native organizations to enhance participant support.
Help coordinate community listening sessions and integrate participant feedback into program activities.
Represent the program respectfully at community events training sessions and collaborative meetings.
Data Management & Reporting
Document participant attendance progress and outcomes in accordance with grant and evaluation requirements.
Assist with data collection activities surveys and follow-up assessments.
Support preparation of reports for the Program Director and funders.
Cultural Integrity & Program Values
Embed Indigenous teachings kinship principles and cultural practices into program delivery.
Demonstrate cultural humility respect for community traditions and a trauma-informed approach.
Participate in staff training professional development and team meetings.
Qualifications
Required
Associate or bachelors degree in human services Education Social Work Counseling Public Health or a related field; OR equivalent relevant experience.
Experience facilitating workshops classes talking circles or group sessions.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to engage participants of diverse ages and backgrounds.
Understanding of Native family structures kinship teachings and traditional values.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold trauma-informed culturally grounded practices.
Experience documenting services and supporting data tracking.
Preferred
Experience delivering evidence-based relationship family strengthening or economic stability curricula.
Lived experience or longstanding involvement with the Denver urban Native community.
Experience in case management peer support coaching or family engagement work.
