Description of Work
The Business Systems and Intelligence (BSI) Branch Manager provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Business Systems and Intelligence Branch within the State Center for Health Statistics (SCHS) Division of Public Health (DPH). This position is responsible for ensuring branch activities priorities and system initiatives are alignedKnowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Experience leveraging computer systems peripheral equipment and information technology to optimize operations and resolve technical challenges in complex environments.
Proficient in configuring and supporting systems software layered products and enterprise applications within diverse user environments ensuring stability and functionality.
Demonstrated success leading teams through enterprise system modernization process improvement and operational transformation initiatives delivering measurable efficiency gains.
Skilled in managing enterprise-level information systems including planning coordination performance monitoring and continuous improvement with hands-on experience using Microsoft Office 365 Power Platform and CRM systems.
Strong communication and leadership capabilities with a proven ability to manage cross-functional teams oversee concurrent projects and build collaborative relationships across technical and business stakeholders.

About the NC Division of Public Health (DPH):
The NC Division of Public Health works to promote and contribute to the highest possible level of health for the people of North Carolina. The North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics is a part of the Division of Public Health and is responsible for data collection health-related research and production of reports and maintenance of a comprehensive collection of health statistics. We provide high quality health information to ensure more informed decision-making and effective health policies. Our goal is to improve the health of all North Carolinians and their communities.
The Business Systems and Intelligence (BSI) Branch within NC SCHS manages applications and systems that handle vital events data. It provides maintenance and operational support for the NC Database Application for Vital Events (NCDAVE) and oversees the retirement of legacy systems. To fulfill its support role BSI works with vendors on system updates conducts user acceptance testing and change management administers user accounts and collaborates with internal teams to deliver training and resources for system users.
