About the Internship:
This internship provides a comprehensive hands-on learning experience within the Customer Compliance Services Unit at NCDMV. Interns will gain exposure to the full scope of the units operations while developing practical skills that support customer compliance administrative processes and business functions in a public service environment.
The internship is designed to build foundational knowledge through unit-specific training followed by specialized rotational assignments that allow interns to support each functional area within the Customer Compliance Services Unit. This structure ensures broad exposure skill development and an understanding of how each section contributes to overall unit operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in a basic training program to develop foundational knowledge and skill needed to support the Customer Compliance Services Unit.
Assist with day-to-day functions across multiple sections within the unit based on business needs and rotational assignments.
Support compliance-related processes by assisting staff with administrative data and operational tasks.
Analyze and extract data to support reporting tracking and decision-making activities.
Prepare and organize documents correspondence and records in support of unit operations.
Communicate effectively with team members to support workflow coordination and customer service efforts.
Operate basic office equipment and utilize standard office technology to complete assigned tasks.
Rotate through unit sections to gain exposure to all functional areas and receive specialized training in each area.

Preferred Background and Skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint).
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to analyze and extract data accurately.
Basic administrative and organizational skills.
Ability to operate standard office equipment.
Interest in learning multiple business functions within a compliance-focused unit.

Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a currently enrolled full-time student in a bachelors masters or professional level program at an accredited or recently graduated from a North Carolina Historically Black College/University (HBCU) or Minority Serving Institution (MSI) May 2026.
- 24 credit hours completed.
- Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 (on 4.0 scale)
- Has legal right to work in the U.S. and do not need sponsorship
