Job Description:
As a Senior Engineer in the Hardware Tools team you will become an expert in Microchips microcontrollers and toolchains for ARM PIC and AVR cores. You will be involved in every aspect of design and release of development boards and debugging tools for Microchips new microcontrollers; specification hardware design (PCB) verification manufacturing tests documentation integration with software ecosystems to make it as easy as possible for Microchips customers to use our microcontroller products.
In your role you will:
Collaborate with the worldwide Microchip team.
Develop hardware that demonstrates Microchip products functionality performance competitive advantage and ease of use.
Design hardware for manufacturing (schematics and layout) with Altium Designer and/or Siemens Xpedition.
Verify hardware functionality through embedded software testing and lab-based measurements.
Develop automated test procedures and test equipment for turnkey manufacturing using both embedded and PC-based software.
Industrialize products manage revisions and collaborate with manufacturing through product-lifecycle systems working closely with the manufacturing team.
Work with version control systems like git and Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
Write documentation for development boards; both internal and external (User Guides).
Build deep expertise in Microchip products and associated peripherals to support their effective use in customer applications.
Collaborate with software engineers to deliver complete solutions encompassing hardware firmware and software leveraging open standards and ecosystems.
