The Opportunity
This is an academically rigorous secondary school where Spanish is the most popular elective at both GCSE and A-Level. The MFL department is a vibrant multilingual hub that prioritizes authentic cultural immersion over rote memorization. We are seeking an energetic Spanish ECT who is committed to high-target language usage and who can bring Hispanic culturefrom Madrid to Mexico Cityto life for our students.
Role Details
Language Immersion: Delivering high-engagement lessons focused on Epistemic Agencythe ability for students to use the language creatively and independently from Year 7 onwards.
Linguistic Support: You will have a dedicated native-speaking Spanish Assistant assigned to your classes 3 days a week specifically to lead small-group speaking interventions and conversation clinics for your GCSE cohorts.
Pedagogical Mentoring: Weekly 1-to-1 meetings with the Head of MFL focusing on Contis EPI (Extensive Processing Instruction) and phonics-led approaches to language acquisition.
Career Fast-Track: The school has a successful history of promoting ECTs to Head of Spanish or International Trips Coordinator within 24-36 months. You will be encouraged to lead a virtual exchange program with our sister school in Valencia during your first year.
