The Role

As a KS1 Teacher you will be responsible for teaching pupils in Year 1 or Year 2 creating a stimulating inclusive classroom environment that encourages engagement curiosity and resilience. You will plan deliver and assess high-quality lessons across all areas of the curriculum with particular focus on English mathematics and foundation subjects.

You will also play a key role in supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development helping them develop confidence independence and interpersonal skills. Close collaboration with teaching assistants the SENCO and senior leadership will ensure targeted support for all pupils including those with additional needs.


Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering engaging differentiated lessons in line with curriculum objectives

  • Assessing monitoring and tracking pupil progress and attainment

  • Supporting pupils social emotional and behavioural development

  • Creating a safe inclusive and stimulating learning environment

  • Using a variety of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners including SEN and EAL pupils

  • Collaborating with teaching assistants subject leaders and the SENCO

  • Communicating effectively with parents carers and external agencies

  • Participating in CPD staff meetings and school initiatives

  • Contributing to extracurricular activities school trips and events

  • Maintaining safeguarding health and safety standards


The Ideal Candidate

The school is seeking a KS1 Teacher who:

  • Holds QTS and has experience teaching Key Stage 1

  • Is passionate about early years education and child development

  • Delivers high-quality engaging and differentiated lessons

  • Has strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Understands and supports SEN EAL and pastoral needs

  • Demonstrates reflective and proactive teaching practice

  • Builds positive relationships with pupils staff and parents

  • Promotes inclusion wellbeing and resilience in all pupils
