Thurston Community College are seeking a Teacher of Social Sciencesto join a forward-thinking open-minded Humanities and Social Science Team as Teacher of Social Sciences.
Humanities and Social Sciences is a welcoming supportive and vibrant faculty with a real sense of community. It has strong outcomes at both GCSE and A level.
You will be a dynamic and innovative practitioner who is passionate about your subject and the impact it can have on a young persons development and all-round education. We are seeking someone who can teach one or more of the social sciences (Psychology Sociology Health and Social Care and Child Development). A willingness to teach more than one of the social sciences is required. There is potential for this role to grow with Head of Department responsibilities for the right candidate.
We are looking for someone who values working as part of a team ensuring the highest standards of achievement and attainment with a keen desire to see the social sciences develop as beacons of excellence across the school. All social science subjects are taught in KS4 with Psychology Sociology and Health and Social Care also delivered in KS5.

Thurston Community College is a large popular mixed comprehensive school. It comprises two distinct and specialist sites.Our Thurston Campus for students from Year 7 to Year 11 is situated four miles east of Bury St Edmunds. Thurston Sixth is located in the nearby village of Beyton offering a bespoke centre of excellence for students in Year 12 and Year 13.
