The Opportunity

Reporting to the VP of Sales the Director Business Performance and Analysis is responsible for the revenue management of the Ontario Corrugated Division of Atlantic Packaging. The Director Business Performance and Analysis is a bridge between our Finance and Sales teams working to ensure revenue targets are met based on customer forecasting segmentation and market analysis.

Beginning with the estimating team new items are created and costed using an agreed upon costing matrix and documented limits of authority. Postproduction analysis ensures the production of the product matches the expected costing inputs.

The revenue management of the corrugated group requires an analysis of profitability reports forecasting customer margin analysis and RFP opportunities measured against product and machine outputs industry trends and internal expectations.

Corporate budget and monthly P&L reporting require a strong accounting background along with a strong business acumen based on the packaging industry and B2B sales. This role leads a team of approximately 16.

What Youll Do

Estimating:

  • Spec creation based on standard costs and maintenance of active specs.
  • Ensure team quote as per guidelines and maintains limits of authority.
  • RFP in coordination with Pricing Analysts
  • Margin retention process

Costing:

  • Maintaining costing system; actual to estimates; Benchmarking reports
  • Monthly / Annual cost Analysis (standard estimates vs P&L).

Pricing Analysts:

  • Contract maintenance pricing adjustments based on guidelines.
  • Profitability reports price lists usage reports ad hoc analysis by customer and product
  • RFP in coordination with estimating and Sales Management
  • Sales reports KPI reports budget analysis
  • Order booking pricing audits
  • Customer forecasting
  • Manage customer segmentation

Other Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and Management of Sales Budgets
  • Special Costing for Major projects
  • Tenders
  • Cost Saving Projects
  • Procedure and documentation controls for estimating and Revenue Management departments
  • Internal transfer and farm out controls
  • Actual to Estimate reporting

What you bring

  • Bachelors degree in business finance and accounting and CPA designation is preferred
  • Strong business acumen and accounting background
  • Experience leading and developing a team is an important asset
  • At least 5 years of manufacturing experience is required
  • Packaging industry experience is an important asset
  • Advanced excel knowledge along with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Exceptionally organized you can balance many competing projects with tight timelines.
