Your opportunity

Join Mission Australia and make every day count in a childsafe preschool for children aged 35 where every child is known feels safe and is supported to thrive.

Our inclusive playbased program welcomes around 50 children each day (high children to teacher ratio) and works closely with specialist supports to tailor Individual Education and Support Plans learning stories and developmental documentation.

As the Early Childhood Teacher lead highquality practice collaborate with families and uphold the National Quality Framework so a diverse community can flourish. Mission Australia looks after its people too with school holidays treated as paid leave.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Deliver inclusive playbased learning aligned to the National Quality Framework; plan document and evaluate individual learning (learning stories portfolios assessments) in partnership with specialist supports.
  • Champion childsafe practice: supervise within ratios identify safety or wellbeing concerns and escalate promptly.
  • Maintain a safe orderly room by following WHS procedures managing incidents and hazards implementing childrens health plans and adhering to site security.
  • Build strong partnerships with families through regular communication parentteacher interviews and engagement activities.
  • Manage daily room operations and resources: set up and pack down activities ensure highquality materials and support smooth transitions and routines.
  • Ensure compliance and quality: keep accurate records complete mandatory training and contribute to the services Quality Improvement Plan (QIP).
  • Model effective pedagogy and mentor educators; when leading the room support induction and performance reviews and foster a positive collaborative team culture.

Requirements for success

  • Approved Early Childhood Teaching Degree (35 years) as recognised by ACECQA; Teacher Registration if applicable.
  • Strong knowledge of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and relevant early learning legislation.
  • Current Valid Working with Children Check
  • Experience in early childhood education including ability to design and implement playbased learning programs.
  • Understanding of early childhood development theories and current research impacting teaching practice.
  • Ability to lead mentor and coach educators fostering best practice and a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationshipbuilding skills with children families and colleagues.
  • Commitment to child safety and wellbeing with capacity to make sound decisions and maintain compliance.

Before starting work with us you will need to undertake a national police history check qualifications and referee checks and have a clearance to work with children/vulnerable people.
