Aboutthe Team:

The Hospitality Tourism & Events team sits within Victoria Universitys TAFE division and delivers high-quality industry-relevant education across commercial cookery hospitality tourism and event management programs. The team works closely with industry partners to ensure training remains current practical and aligned to workforce needs.

Our programs are delivered across classroom simulated and real-world environments including live operations events and industry-based learning. The team is highly collaborative student-focused and committed to continuous improvement innovation and excellence in teaching and assessment. About the Role:

As a TAFE Teacher in Hospitality Tourism & Events you will play a key role in delivering engaging high-quality vocational education and assessment primarily within our Events program while also being available to teach across Hospitality programs as required to support operational needs. You will work collaboratively with colleagues and industry partners to deliver practical hands-on training that reflects current industry practices and standards.

Position Key Duties:

• Facilitate learning and establish educational and assessment strategies to suit a range of student client needs and industry contexts
• To work in and with current and prospective industry partners and enterprises
• Ensure quality compliance of the requirements of ASQA VRQA HESG service agreements within your delivery and assessment
• Establish and maintain a positive learning environment and undertake assessment of student performance in accordance with the requirements of the relevant curriculum
• Research develop and customise learning materials suitable for a range of teaching and learning settings and diverse students and industry clients

Salary: VT3-VT5 $93058 per annum $117-998 per annum

About You:

You will bring strong industry experience in Events supported by a mandatory AQF Level 5 qualification in Events Management and a passion for teaching and developing learners. An AQF Level 5 qualification in Hospitality will be highly regarded.

You will also hold a Diploma of Vocational Education and Training (or higher) or be willing to obtain this qualification within an agreed timeframe along with experience delivering vocational education and assessment in an Events Hospitality or related TAFE environment and a solid understanding of competency-based training and assessment.

You will have the capability to deliver primarily within Events programs and the flexibility to contribute to Hospitality teaching as required aligned to your qualifications and industry experience. You are an engaging and effective communicator who can connect with diverse student cohorts and build productive relationships with colleagues and industry partners.

A collaborative adaptable and student-centred approach combined with strong organisational skills attention to compliance requirements and a commitment to continuous improvement will make you a strong fit for this role. You will be motivated by making a genuine impact on students learning journeys and contributing positively to a supportive high-performing team culture
