The Australian Airline Pilot Academy (AAPA) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Regional Express Holdings Limited (Rex) Australias largest independent regional airline.
Rex is looking for a passionate and skilled Chefs to join our team. The successful candidates will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals managing kitchen operations and ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in menu planning and development
- Monitor food stock and place orders as needed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen
- Supervise and train kitchen staff (if applicable)
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations
- Manage food preparation during busy service periods
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a commercial kitchen
- Culinary qualification or equivalent experience
- Professional high standard of personal presentation kitchen hygiene and food handling
- Current Food Safety Certificate
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work without supervision and in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Knowledge and understanding of catering for students from culturally diverse backgrounds
- Must be able to work shift work - work evenings weekends and public holidays
