Job Summary
* Design model and detail mechanical components and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor
* Create accurate drawings for fabrication and manufacturing
* Perform engineering calculations and finite element analysis (FEA) using Inventor
* Support existing projects by updating and correcting designs fixing parts and improving legacy models
* Design components and systems related to steel mill equipment material handling systems and process lines
* Collaborate with engineering manufacturing and project teams to meet tight schedules
* Ensure designs meet applicable codes standards and safety requirements
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Design Engineer in an industrial or heavy manufacturing environment
* Strong proficiency with Inventor (modeling detailing drawings and FEA)
* Prior experience working with steel mills material handling equipment or process line equipment
* Ability to perform basic to intermediate engineering calculations
* Experience with equipment detailing redesigns and modifications
* Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
* Ability to work independently with minimal oversight
Preferred Experience
* Background in heavy equipment capital equipment or custom machinery
* Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as welding machining and fabrication
* Experience supporting fast-paced or backlog-driven engineering teams
