The Director Digital Content & Insights leads the digital content and insights teams and provides strategic leadership and direction in the creation and delivery of the Digital Engagement Strategy for the Community Communications and Stakeholder Relations division. This position requires a dynamic strategic and globally minded digital leader who can drive the next evolution of our digital strategies platforms and channels. We are looking for a great storyteller and an experienced leader with extensive experience leading transformational change through innovative digital and content strategies that inform engage and enhance reputation and achieve key business outcomes.
What will I be doing
- Provides strategic leadership and direction in the development and implementation of a department-wide digital social & content strategy applying subject matter expertise on digital and social channel innovations strategies industry standards and best practices to ensure the operational goals and objectives are delivered consistent with the organizations strategic plan policies and procedures along with federal and provincial regulations standards and policies.
- Leads the identification and implementation of effective and creative digital solutions to support large and complex initiatives.
- Oversees the digital roadmap integration of digital tools (including Outreach website email CRM) and ensures online experiences that enable engagement.
- Leads the creation of dynamic digital and social content to engage broad and local audiences and guides campaigns narratives and multimedia storytelling across all channels.
- Provides oversight to digital strategy of projects determining developing and reviewing strategic scope documents appropriate business cases outlining costs resources timeframes and any other related requirements for highly complex business initiatives for digital and content channels.
- Leads the Insights &Strategy function to synthesize community and customer research into insights that shape divisional strategy guide prioritization and anchor yearround performance discussions.
- Oversees the customer data platform integrations and PowerBI ecosystem to deliver connected reliable KPIs and dashboards that measure impact and enable datadriven decisionmaking across teams.
- Directs the divisional planning cycle to ensure business areas and leaders align objectives deliverables and performance measures.
- Supports and guides business partners and executive management ensuring an understanding of issues providing authoritative analysis interpretation and opinion to effectively influence decision making.
- Champions digital channel idea generation with business and delivery partners through formal and informal methods and proactively identifies opportunities for line of businesses and supports the creation of the strategies to meet organizational objectives.
- Creates a working environment that is aligned with the organizations desire to be an employer of choice ensuring that people resources possess the required skills are properly aligned and are provided with the resources to do the job.
- Provides creative thought leadership with input from others to help enhance and improve overall business strategy focusing on client experience for all business segments; develop and deploy a strategic vision; connects and aligns projects with strategic corporate goals.
What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need
- Completion of an undergraduate degree in Business Journalism I &IT Digital Technology Digital Marketing communications or relevant and related discipline or a combination of education training and experience deemed equivalent
- Demonstrated progressive senior leadership and management experience in leading/directing the strategic development and implementation of customer-facing digital and social strategies including content creation community development product and roadmap development in a public sector environment
- Expertise in current/state-of-the-art digital and social channels communications methods strategies principles industry standards and best practices to lead the creation and delivery of digital and social strategy for Community Communications and Stakeholder Relations
- Direct experience creating content for digital and social platforms
- Extensive understanding of social platforms their audiences and how to build dynamic communities
- Experience working with the communities that make up our diverse region
- Collaboration partnership building influencing skills and political acuity to: work effectively with other senior leaders across Metrolinx to support enterprise-wide initiatives and shape the direction of major organizational decisions; build healthy work relationships with internal/external partners vendors and peers
- Service-focused management and influencing skills to: nurture professional development teamwork and achieve results in a matrix management environment; provide senior technical and administrative direction to an operating or functional unit
- Strong interpersonal and oral/written/presentation skills to: translate long term direction into action across all levels of the organization; capture and explain complex concepts and research results in simple concise and visually attractive ways
- Leadership skills to inspire trust shape culture and move ideas forward.
