The Position

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Legal Assistant to join our Brisbane office providing high-level support to a Partner Stephanie Huestis and her team of lawyers who are highly regarded specialists in personal injury property and product liability.

This is an exceptional opportunity to work alongside a leading practitioner who is building her practice and delivering complex high-value outcomes for local and international insurers brokers corporate clients and more.

As a Legal Assistant you will be a key contributor to the teams success helping manage the administrative and organisational aspects of the practice. Your role will include:

  • Managing own and work authors emails as required including ensuring timely filing of emails filtering incoming correspondence proactively dealing with queries and meeting invites
  • Coordinating and producing compliant documents matter lifecycles and correspondence including preparation of briefs for counsel.
  • Conflict searches.
  • Assisting work authors with expense claims in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with the production signing and mailing of monthly bills for work authors
  • Diary management travel booking and handling of telephone calls; and
  • Associated administrative duties.

Essential Experience and Criteria

To be successful in this role you will possess:

  • Relevant experience in a legal support role preferably within an insurance environment with exposure to general liability matters.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products with good typing and word processing skills.
  • Proactive positive and responsive can do approach with the ability to learn things quickly.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and effective time management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible to meet team requirements.
