General Description
This position oversees the water park operations and safety of patrons supervises lifeguards and subordinate personnel coordinates special events related to aquatics and is responsible for the water chemistry and pool/facility maintenance.
The purpose of this class within the organization is to supervise a specialized area within an assigned Parks facility and ensure it is properly managed and adequately staffed. This class works under general supervision independently developing work methods and sequences.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:Requires two (2) years managing specialty park operations or closely related experience based on area of park assignment including one (1) year lead work/supervisory experience and must be Jeff Ellis & Associates certified or obtain a Jeff Ellis & Associates license within 30 days of hire.
Special Certifications and Licenses Required:Possess and maintain a valid Florida Class E Drivers License with authority to drive a county vehicle for duration of appointment.
Preferences:Associates or Bachelors Degree in Parks and Recreation Management Hospitality Management Public Administration Business Administration Environmental Sciences Engineering or closely related field.
Aquatic Facility Operator Certification (AFO)
Jeff Ellis Lifeguard instructor license
Jeff Ellis Program coordinator license
CPRP and/or CPRE
ServSafe Food Managers Certificate
Ability to speak foreign language (not limited to Spanish French/Creole Portuguese)
