Arxada is seeking a Research & Development Microbiologist to support the Home and Personal Care preservation technical service and development projects through the design performance and reporting of microbiological efficacy testing completed OTIF. Support business needs such as capability developments for technical advancements or digital initiatives.

Essential Job Functions

Technical programme input

• Performs planned efficacy testing on time in full with results reported accurately across multiple projects.

• Can prioritise workload with guidance.

• Express ideas to the technical group with some understanding of broader technical needs and restrictions.

• Capable of listening and learning for wider colleagues.

• Can develop a test plan and requires input for ensuring it meets the required end goals.

• Identifies seminars relevant to technical colleagues and can summarise the learnings for the wider team.

• Continued development of technical expertise in microbiology or associated applications to support programme needs.

Stakeholder management

• Can work effectively as part of a project team providing timely updates in an agreed format.

• Reporting of results are error free and appropriately displayed for the intended audience.

• Delivering work to the timelines agreed for actions with guidance from the Technical lead for the project.

Capability builds

• Can lead the development of a capability or knowledge piece of work with guidance on the execution.

• Proposes ideas for capability builds considering value to the company and may include PoC data.

• Requires Technical lead input to understand comparable capabilities or wider considerations.

External study placement

• Conducts study plan design and management with third parties with guidance.

• Can troubleshoot issues arising independently or with technical guidance.

• Chases delivery of results to ensure timings for work are followed.

EHS responsibilities

• To support business needs with a proactive and supportive mindset.

Quality responsibilities

• To support work towards achieving maintaining or expanding accreditations of the microbiology laboratory or wider R&D programme.

Laboratory maintenance

• To proactively support the laboratory upkeep to ensure equipment consumables and general cleanliness of the laboratory is maintained and support troubleshooting where required.
